The seventh edition of SOHO TALKS was held on Wednesday, October 5th at our SOHO The Strand business centre. During the seventh installment of SOHO TALKS, we were joined by special guest speaker, Dr. Jean Claude Scicluna: Founder of Malta Cannabis Clinic, Licensed MD, Cannabinoid Specialist Physician, and Principal Scientist at Cellotex.
During the TALK, Dr. Jean Claude Scicluna discussed Hand in Hand: Medical Cannabis & Humankind.
In this interactive session, Dr. Scicluna started the TALK by discussing the connection between human beings and cannabis throughout history, dating all the way back to thousands of years ago. He highlighted how Cannabis was present throughout the World and used in various areas for treating youths and adults with illnesses, aches and pains. Did you know Queen Victoria used Cannabis as treatment towards the end of her life, even going so far to describe cannabis as one of the most valuable tools in their arsenal at the time?
Later in the TALK, Dr. Scicluna broke down how cannabinoids work, and how our bodies receive them. We took a deeper look into the different kinds and compounds within the plant and how we are using them today to personalise the medical cannabis experience.
